A loan of $300 helped to buy supplies.

Ana Julia's story

Ana is 55 years old and lives in the lovely city of Cartagena, along with her husband and four children, between the ages of 8 and 19. She learned to make clothing from her mother and she has been able to support her family for the past five years, although her experience dates back 35 years, when she used to help her mother.

She makes her lines of clothing are for women in accordance with the season and as requested by her customers. So in June she makes pajamas and in December and January makes girls’ dresses.

She begins setting up her supplies at 6:00 am and begins designing from that moment in order to assemble the pieces until 5:00 pm, when she takes a break from her machine and calls her customers to go pick up their orders and arrange payment dates.

She is asking for a Kiva loan so that she can buy fabric in volume, zippers, and buttons to make blouses, dresses, sweaters, and pants that her customers will use at end of the year festivities. This is the time of years when people need to be elegant and full of love to receive the new years and sing Christmas carols.
