Regina lives in Kampala, Uganda. She is single and has two children, both of them currently attending school. She is not looking after any other member of the family.
She has been sewing clothes, for sale at retail, for ten years. She works in the shop seven days a week. She has no other source of income. Her business challenges include seasonality and defaulters. She has requested a loan of UGX 1,800,000 from MCDT-SACCO, to buy rolls of cloth and thread, for making clothing. She joined MCDT because of the timely loans.
Regina's dream is to accumulate profits that will enable her to build a home. She rents a house, where she does not have access to electricity or piped water. Her major monthly expenses are school fees and rent.
