Sakina's story

Sakina is 32 years old, married, and has two children who attend school. For the past 10 years, she has been manufacturing "waan," which is a material used in making charpoy (a bedstead of woven webbing or hemp stretched on a wooden frame on four legs, common in Pakistan). She offers various kinds of waan in different colors, and she is famous in providing a good quality product in her community. In this way she is able to manage the needs of her family members.

Sakina is requesting her fifth loan from Kashf Foundation for 10,000 PKR, which she will use to buy another waan making machine so she can continue to provide good quality products to her customers. She has gradually improved her business with the support of Kashf Foundation. Sakina expects gains in her earnings and will be better able to support her family.
