A loan of $400 helped to buy clothing.

Orlando's story

Orlando is 47 years old and a hardworking, enterprising man. He is also friendly and has a great desire to succeed. He lives with his wife Neria who works. They have two children, ages 17 and 19 whom they love very much. They all live comfortably in a home of their own.

Orlando transports passanges in a moto-taxi that he bought with his savings and a private loan. He started this 12 years ago when he bought his first vehicle and over time he renovated others as they wore out from constant use.

He likes his business because it allows him to have an income that he can use to cover his family expenses and he started it because he could not find work and needed an income. Now he is comfortable and can manage his own schedule; he’s also his own boss. However, he doesn’t like when his moto-taxi malfunctions so often and it creates a lot of expenses. Still, he is able to see good results and plans to grow and buy a new heavy freight vehicle.

This will be his 10th loan through MFP and he feels grateful for the financial support that has helped him reach his objectives. He also says that he’s comfortable with his communal bank and gets along well with all the members, whom he considers to be good people.

He will use the 1,000 PEN to buy merchandise such as men’s clothing for the Christmas season, since he got the idea to also sell clothing.
