A loan of $775 helped to buy merchandise.

Dellanira Del Rosario's story

The “Madre Para Un Futuro Mejor” communal bank meets every two weeks in the “24 de Mayo” settlement, located in the Manabí province, known for its beautiful landscape, its forests, variety of fauna, and for its friendly, hardworking people.

Dellanira lives here. She’s 46 years old, married, and has four adult children. The two youngest still live in her home and attend university. Her husband works as a mason.

Dallarina is a very good wife, who upon seeing that her husband does whatever possible to give them everything and after seeing that there were days when he didn’t have any work and or enough money to support the household, she decided to begin selling clothing and Avon products (beauty products, perfumes, and women’s accessories). She works three days a week and sells door to door, going out to where her customers are. Her daughters also help her with her sales. She sells on credit and collects every week. She mostly sells the perfumes and cosmetics, has been doing this for more than five years, and this is how she is helping, above all, to provide her children’s education.

She will use the money from this loan to buy perfumes, creams, cosmetics, and seasonal clothing. It’s during this end of the year time that her sales are best. She has been with the communal bank for ten years and she likes the assistance, especially since her business began with one of the loans.

Her dreams are to see her daughters become professionals and for them to have a good future.
