Luz Margarita's story

This is the seventh loan that Sra. Luz has received, along with her friends and fellow members of the Zhullin Communal Bank. She is a member who is very responsible with her payments and who collaborates with others. She lives in the community of Zhullin in the city of Azogues. The city has many tourist, handicraft, religious, cultural and ecological sites. There is also a varied and delicious cuisine, and the Virgen de la Nube, who is venerated by the faithful throughout the country, as well as by tourists. Azogues has a rich tradition displayed in it old houses with carved wooden balconies and in the Cathedral with its imposing stone facade, located in the Central Plaza,.

Doña Luz is a woman who is 30 years old and married. She has conceived four children in her marriage. They are 11, 7, 4 and 2 years of age. Her first three children attend a school in the city. Her husband has his own business and runs a bakery. They do not own a house and rent one.

Sra. Luz does household chores and cares for her children, who are still small. To help her husband financially, she raises chickens and guinea pigs. She also farms, but her crops are all for household consumption. In her spare time she helps her husband in the bakery.

She will use the loan to purchase guinea pigs and chickens and to buy feed for the animals.

Her dream is to own her own home.
