A loan of $775 helped to buy meats, soft drinks, basic grains, and other items.

Juan Manuel's story

Sr. Juan Manuel is 36 years old and lives in a suburban neighborhood of San Pedro Sula with his wife and three children. He previously worked in agriculture, but a year ago he decided to open a grocery store where he sells basic grains, meats, soft drinks, snack foods, lard, salt, sugar, medicines, condiments, and other products. Juan Manuel currently manages this business while his wife works at a factory as a means of generating additional income to alleviate their financial situation.

He decided to request a loan from ODEF in the amount of 15,000 HNL so that he can by products to restock his business such as meats, soft drinks, basic grains, and other items. With this loan, Juan Manuel will be able to maintain a variety of products, which he hopes will increase his sales and his earnings. His goal is to build a house of his own and set up his store there.
