Oliver is married with four children, two of whom attend school. She lives in Kampala, Uganda, and does not look after any additional family members. For the past ten years, Oliver has sold charcoal from home. She works seven days a week and also manages rental houses as another source of income. Oliver's challenges include seasonality and transportation. Her family has access to both electricity and running water and her major monthly expenses include school fees. Oliver joined MCDT because the staff members are friendly and it is cheap to become a member.
Oliver is requesting a 600,000 UGX loan from MCDT- SACCO to buy more sacks of charcoal to sell. Her dream is to expand her business to earn profits to build more rental houses and to buy a delivery van to improve transportation.
