A loan of $1,100 helped a member to buy ingredients.

Los Amigos Empresarios Group's story

Pleasant Greetings. This is a new group called, “Los Amigos Empresarios” and is made up of six enthusiastic members who began working with the Prosperidad Program. Marianela, one of the members, is 55 years old, married, and has two children; one of them still depends on her for support. She has been selling fast food, such as hamburgers, broasted chicken, and chicken soup, for more than a year. She started this business because she wanted to improve her quality of life, so she has to work a lot.

She used the money from her most recent loan to buy ingredients such as chicken, hamburger meat, potatoes, and cooking oil for her business. Her greatest desire is to set up a fast food stall in a central location. The new group, “Los Amigos Empresarios,” is grateful to the Kiva lenders. Marianela is the first one on the left of the photograph, wearing an orange polo shirt.
