A loan of $325 helped to buy silk threads and to pay labor costs.

Virginia's story

Virginia makes hammocks. She lives with her two children, who are six and four years old. She learned to do hammocks from her family, from her parents and siblings. She works in this the whole day and takes a rest in order to be able to take her children to school. Virginia has been doing this for ten years now.

She is requesting a loan because she needs to buy materials for making the hammocks - especially silk threads - and to pay other people that help her to weave. This will help her finish some orders that she has for other clients, now that the upcoming season has a good demand.

Virginia’s objective is to work and one day, to be able to build a better house for her and her children.
