Hendrick lives in Kampala, Uganda. She is a widow with six children, two of whom attend school. She also looks after her grandchildren and elderly mother. She has been operating a food stall selling fresh peas and beans for five years, working six days a week. She also sells local brew as another source of income. She has requested a loan of UGX 1,000,000 from MCDT SACCO to buy baskets of fresh cow peas, beans, tomatoes and green peppers to sell at her stall. Her challenges include seasonality. Her dream is to expand her business and accumulate profits to buy land and start growing peas and beans. She joined MCDT SACCO because of group lending and the weekly repayment schedule. She lives in a house with access to electricity but no piped water. Her major monthly expenses include school fees.
