Comíté Mujeres Luchando Group's story

The committee “Mujeres Luchando” (women fighting) is a new group in its first cycle. All the members dream of having their own house. Some of them belonged to another group before but they decided to form a new one and start from the beginning. They are all very hard-working people who want to bring benefits to their families.

The Committee of Entrepreneuring women is a program carried out by Fundación Paraguaya that targets groups of enterprising women who create a village bank through which they receive assistance in terms of loans. The main goal is to give them the opportunity to carry out economic activities that enable them to live with dignity and contribute to a better quality of life in their homes. Lending to poor women creates a cascading effect that brings social and economic benefits to a whole family, and thus to the entire community. What is more, the sense of belonging to a group gives these poor women committee members the energy and motivation to reach success.

Among the businesses they run are grocery stores and businesses selling CDs, fruit, vegetables, clothing, drinks, lingerie, cosmetics, and food.

The money provided by the credit will be used for the purchase of sugar, rice, fruits, vegetables, drinks, and fabric.
