A loan of $400 helped to buy fertiliser and herbicides.

Genaro's story

Genaro is 58 years old. He lives with his wife, and has two sons who work with him on the farm. He grows corn. He learned how to grow corn when he was young. He has two dairy cows and grows half a manzana of bananas (one manzana = approx. 1.72 acres). He and his sons work from Monday to Saturday.

It is now sowing season, and so he needs the support provided by a loan in order to cover agricultural expenses such as fertiliser and herbicides. He will also use part of the loan to prepare the ground. He will buy necessities and this will enable him to carry out his work without any difficulties.

His aspiration is to strengthen the developments he is making with his crops, in order to obtain better yields for both consumption and sale, thereby improving his and his family’s quality of life.
