A loan of $1,375 helped to hire laborers and buy sacks of island bird guano.

Valentin's story

Valentín is 46 years old. He is proud to have raised his children in a responsible way and made them into good people with a promising future. He is the owner of a home built from adobe.

He is considered to be one of the pioneers in his area of cacao production. He has been doing it for nearly 30 years and so far he has offered his customers quality product. He considers it to be one of the best activities, because aside from enjoying his work he feels good knowing his product really benefits the more humble families in his area without any trouble.
While starting a new production campaign, he hopes to get the best use possible out of his land parcels by hiring laborers from the area to plant the seedlings, grafting plants and weeding. On the other hand, he tells us that a new lot of island organic fertilizer has come to his region. He has to sign up first and have enough money on hand, because it is the highest quality fertilizer and very essential to guarantee a quality production.

This is his fifth loan with MFP. He already feels committed to make the loan payments on time. As president of his communal bank he gives his best to make this a solid group in the long term that will benefit everyone. With the 3,500 soles, he will hire laborers from the area for different jobs on his land parcels. He will also buy a considerable quantity of sacks of island guano whose price is 60 soles a unit.
