A loan of $600 helped to buy bricks, cement, roofing purlins and metal sheeting.

Erika Marcela's story

Ericka is from the municipality of Telica. This young woman is 29-years-old and the mother of two children. She works as an elementary school teacher. She chose this profession because she’s passionate about teaching to read and to write and feels good because she contributes to Nicaragua’s development by forming professionals who are the country’s future.

Despite being young and having formed her family at an early age, she’s a very mature, enterprising woman who is concerned for her children’s future; to build her own house with all conditions and not spend her entire life living in the family home. To reach her dreams, she strives daily to do her work even though she lives far from the school where she teaches and must leave home at 5am in order to be punctual and be an exemplary teacher.

Little by little and with help from loans, she’s built the essentials of her house but needs another loan to buy building materials like bricks, cement, roofing purlins and metal sheeting to continue with the project. She trusts in God that Kiva through Ceprodel will approve her loan application so she can reach the goal of owning a house.
