A loan of $400 helped to cultivate corn, black-eyed peas and peppers.

Virginie's story

Virginie is 36 years old and lives in Benin. She did not go to school. She is married to Bertin, a farmer. The couple have 3 dependent children, some fo whom attend school. Virginie lives with her husband and children. The couple both take care of the family's various needs. In order to be able to meet her various responsibilities, Virginie has been farming and selling akassa (a local meal prepared with corn-starch) in an area of Benin for almost 20 years.

In order to increase her production, Virginie would like to buy the agricultural inputs needed to cultivate corn, black-eyed peas and peppers, with a view to better satisfying her customer's needs. This third loan will enable her to increase her level of business activity and to make more profits. The first loans have been correctly repaid.
