Théophile's story

Théophile is 40 years old and lives in Benin. He is married to a trader called Cécile. Théophile has had a bit of schooling. The couple have 5 dependent children, some of whom go to school. Théophile lives together with wife and children, and together they take care of the household responsibilities.

Théophile has been a farmer for 16 years, in order to be able to cover the different family expenses. In order to increase his production, so that he can better respond to his customer demand, Théophile would like to buy agricultural inputs needed to cultivate black-eyed peas, corn and peppers. This is the 5th time that he request a loan from ALIDé. The previous loans have been correctly repaid.
