Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $400 helped to buy agricultural inputs for growing corn, black-eyed peas and okra.

Sébatien's story

Sébastien is 52 years old and is married to Séverine, a trader. The couple have 9 dependent children, some of whom go to school. The family live together. Sébastien takes care of the family's various expenses together with his wife. Sébastien did not go to school. In order to meet his various needs, he has been breeding pigs for around 30 years. He also grows corn, black-eyed peas and okra.

Sébastien gets his agricultural inputs in a town in Benin. He is requesting financial support from ALIDé for the 6th time, in order to further strengthen his business by increasing his stock of products and his production. His strength as an entrepreneur is the warm welcome he reserves for his customers. The previous loans have been properly repaid.
