A loan of $225 helped to buy bananas, onions, potatoes, oranges, lemons, melons, etc.

Gloria Esther's story

Gloria, 31, is a native of Granada. She is married, and is the mother of 5 children aged 1, 3, 7, 12, and 15. She works in retail trade. She started working with her mother when she was very young, but when she married she became independent, selling firewood from a horse cart. Later, she was able to get a small amount of financing which enabled her to buy fruits and vegetables that she could go out and sell in the market. From this business, she and her family get their daily support.

Gloria is requesting a loan to buy bananas, onions, potatoes, oranges, lemons, melons, etc. Since she thinks that this loan will help her to buy more products, and products that she does not currently have in stock, she plans to get another cart in the future so that she could go out to sell a greater variety of fruits throughout the market. In this way, she would be able to increase her sales and thereby obtain more earnings, allowing her to provide her children with a better quality of life.
