A loan of $800 helped to buy organic fertilizer.

Elizabeth's story

Elizabeth, 29, is a hardworking woman. She lives with Aldo, her husband of eight years. During this time they raised their little girl, Fiorela, in their own home.

Her main income comes from growing potatoes, carrots, corn, and beans in her own fields. She says she sells every harvest in the capital of the country, where she gets better income because the demand price is greater. Sometimes, when she's washing the carrots in the river, the buyers themselves pick her crops to sell them because they look delicious and healthy.

Her other income comes from raising cows. She has six that give enough milk to make natural yogurt, an average of 100 liters per week. She says her secret is taking care of the animals: she nourishes them with balanced feed and they have a visit from a specialist once a month. "I have to take care of them to get good results," she says.

This is her third loan with MFP and she's happy because she found the help she needed so much to achieve her goals. In addition, she's responsible in all her jobs, so she's committed to making her payments punctually.

Elizabeth will invest the requested money in buying organic fertilizer for her crops.
