Benkadi (L’Entente Est Bonne) Group
This group of women sells various items such as "pagnes" (traditional African fabrics), cosmetics, firewood, medications, incense etc. In order to increase the size of their businesses, they have decided to join the loan program offered by Soro Yiriwaso. This is their second group loan.
Bintou is a member of the Benkadi group. In the photo, she is standing, first from the right. She plans to use her loan to buy five bags of traditional soaps. She buys her goods at the Koutiala market and resells them for cash from her home or at the market to a diverse retail customer base. While the other members of the group are each expecting average profits from this loan cycle to reach 75,500 CFA francs, Bintou is expecting average profits to reach 92,000 CFA francs.
In addition to repaying their loans, the members of the group will use part of their earnings to meet their personal expenses and boost their businesses.

Elle compte utiliser son prêt pour acheter, 5 sacs de savons traditionnels. Elle se procure de ces produits au marché de Koutiala. Elle vend ces articles en détail et au comptant à la maison et au marché à une clientèle diverse.
Tandis que les autres membres du groupe Benkadi comptent réaliser un bénéfice moyen de 75.500CFA chacune au cours de ce cycle Mme Bintou compte réaliser 92.000FCFA.
En plus du remboursement des prêts, elles utilisent une partie du revenu pour faire face aux dépenses personnelles et augmenter son fond de commerce.

The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.
