A loan of $650 helped to buy a plane ticket to Russia to find a job.

Akram's story

Akram is a conscientious, motivated, and hardworking man. He was born in a village that has good farming conditions. He mainly grows wheat and barley.

This is Akram's second time getting a loan from our organization. A few years ago he took a loan from our organization to start his own animal husbandry business. His wife helped with the business and they made a good profit.

Then, for a period of time, Akram went to Russia and his wife, Mashkhura, continued to run his business. She planted all the wheat and barley while also feeding the cattle. Akram did not find permanent work in Russia and, so, he returned to his homeland to work on his business.

At harvest time, Akram purchases cattle at the bazaar for low prices. Then, his wife feeds the cattle for a period of time before reselling them for higher prices. The profits from Akram's business enabled him to improve his farm.

This year Akram planted two hectares of barley, but due to bad weather, Akram did not have the kind of harvest he was expecting. Hence, he turned to our organization for a loan to purchase a plane ticket to Russia. His wife will stay behind and run the business. Akram is hoping for your charity!
