A loan of $1,075 helped to buy wood and paint.

Marcelina Sebastiana's story

The communal bank La Sequita holds its meetings at the Sequita Parish which belongs to Montecristi in the Manabita Canton. It is a place full of hard-working, dedicated people who are proud of their origins. La Sequita is a parish whose population is made up of honest people who only know how to work and care for their families.

Marcelina, 48, is married and has nine children, five of whom live at home, the younger two in school. Her husband is a furniture maker.

Marcelona is requesting a loan for her husband's business. He has a workshop where he makes all kinds of furniture, chairs, doors, beds, and other things. His working hours are Monday through Saturday, from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. His children and wife help with the paint jobs. This is how he has been able to provide for his family for over 20 years in an honest way.

The loan will be used to buy wood and paint to make products. Marcelona has been a member of the communal bank since its beginnings and enjoys the easy credit terms given by the bank.

Her dream is to see her younger children finish their education.
