A loan of $400 helped to buy a cow.

Francisco Jose's story

Francisco is 36 years old and originally from the Llanito settlement in Teustepe. He’s married and has two sons; one helps with the farm work and the other attends the local high school. [Francisco] is a farmer and raises corn and wheat. He also has cows that he milks and sells the milk in order to help with the household expenses. Francisco says that he was working with others several years ago, and he was able to buy his first cow with the money he saved up. He currently works on a farm and his boss has helped him very much and sold him his livestock. Francisco needs this loan to buy a cow. He believes that this loan will help him to increase his number of animals and increase milk production so that he can increase his income. His next goal is to pay off the loan and then request another to buy more livestock.
