A loan of $400 helped buy organic fertlizer and hire laborers.

Gabriel's story

Gabriel is 45 years old, and he shares his married life with Marina who is 36 years old. Together they have 4 children, and they are living in wooden house.
Gabriel owns a piece of land where he grows organic cacao, a business he’s been doing for ten years. Previously, he was raising cattle, but it was very difficult, and they lost their animals. It wasn’t good for Gabriel. So he decided to harvest cacao since the land is very fertile and grows without a problem. Gabriel is one of the pioneers in his region for using guano from the island, because he received a tremendous quality of pods after trying it out for the first time. This managed to encourage other producers to use the product.
As part of enlarging his planting, he wants to get a considerable amount of organic fertilizer in order to guarantee a quality harvest. He also wants to hire laborers to graft 600 cocoa plants, and employ a systematic technique with the goal of increasing his earnings.
With his credit number of 8, Gabriel feels very confident and grateful since he believes it’s an indispensable tool for productive work. With the 1,000 nuevos soles (Peruvian currency), he will buy bags of organic fertilizer and hire laborers to do the cacao planting.
