A loan of $300 helped to buy corn, lime, and gas to make tortillas.

Maria Antonia's story

María lives with her husband and three children, ages 15, 13, and 10. Only her husband helps her. She makes a living selling tortillas, a job she learned in her family. She works on her own and up to the present has not had any difficulties.

She's requesting a loan to buy merchandise such as corn, lime, and gas, which are what's needed to make tortillas. In particular, she'll buy the corn wholesale to help keep a good supply at low cost.

María's dream is to be able to make improvements on her home so it's safer for her family. She hopes to achieve this with the profits from her business.
