Shahida's story

Shahida is a 44-year-old married woman. She had a difficult time after her husband's business failure. She decided to work with her husband and to support her family for a better future. Twenty years ago, she began a stitching business in her house. She stitches for the people living around her house and uses the income to support her entire family. However, due to lack of availability of funds, she is unable to meet the daily demands of her customers. She is a mother of two children and her husband and son also work to contribute to the family income. She is in her 2nd loan cycle and has borrowed 25,000 PKR from Kashf. She intends to use this loan to buy raw materials, such as spools of thread and packs of buttons and zippers in various colors. It will enable her to meet her customers’ demand without delay. She wishes to spend part of the profits on the betterment of her family members.
