A loan of $2,125 helped to purchase 3 bulls.

Rakiyabubu's story

Rakiyabubu is 53 years old and married. As the main source of income for the family, 17 years ago she started her own business in animal husbandry and growing crops. Thanks to her persistent hard work, from a start-up capital of only 10,000 Kyrgyzstan Som (KGS), she has managed to develop her farm to now include 2 dairy cows and 20 sheep, which generates an income of around 10,000 Som from the sale of milk and dairy products. Every year, the family work 2.8 hectares of land, where they annually grow beans and perennial herbs. For the purpose of further developing her business, Rakiyabubu has approached Bai Tushum & Partners for a loan of 100,000 Som to buy bulls, since the prices are now low and a future rise is forecast. She plans to use the income generated by this loan to increase her herd, to host her son's wedding, and to build a large barn.
