Gladys's story

Gladys is aged twenty-five and a farmer in Nyamira county in Kenya where she lives with her husband. She has been in farming for the past five years producing maize, beans and poultry products which she sells at the local market in her area. She runs a cereals shop as an additional source of income.

She is requesting a 30,000 KES loan from Juhudi Kilimo to purchase poultry birds which she will later sell and earn extra money which will help her uplift her living standard. She aspires to be a leading poultry farmer in the next five years.

Diseases and lack of enough capital are her major challenges in farming.
