A loan of $800 helped to buy sewing supplies.

Lina's story

Lina, 47, is a good and kind woman. She's the mother of three children, ages 24, 21, and 16. Since they were little they always had all the love and protection that a true mother can offer. She has her own house where she lives with all her children, always striving to get ahead.

Lina's job is designing and creating clothing. She also mends imperfections in her customers' clothes, leaving them perfect. She has her small workshop in her house and has been doing this work for 18 years. This allowed her to feed her family for a long time and give her children a good education. She works alone and is very happy because it's going very well for her, even though in certain seasons her clientele drops.

When she started this business she had problems because of her lack of experience, such as cutting the fabric imprecisely or choosing the wrong fabric for a particular type of garment. Nevertheless she has learned to overcome these setbacks thanks to the passing of the years and the training that she herself sought so she could improve her work. Now she has a lot of customers who always request her services. This is why her goal is to create more garments, especially dresses for special occasions.

This is her sixteenth loan with MFP. She's grateful to all the people who make her loan possible, so she can continue doing her job with better results. She's committed once again to making her payments punctually, just as she did with her previous loans. Also, it pleases her to be part of her communal bank because all the members are responsible and very supportive people.

With the requested amount of 2000 soles [PEN] she'll buy materials to continue doing her work, including elastic, fabric, buttons, appliqués, lace, colored thread, and other materials.
