Guadalupe Victoria Group's story

Abelina is one of the “Guadalupe Victoria” group members. She only attended secondary school. She’s married to Misael and they have two children. Abelina relates that when she had her children she decided to help her husband with the household expenses; she says that if they both work they can offer their children a better quality of life and move them ahead. Abelina says that she’s satisfied with her shoe sales and that for the last two years the business has been growing and she’s acquired some customers. She comments that she sells the shoes visiting her customers and neighbors door to door. She shows her shoes and if the customer likes them she takes what she likes and she gets paid for them. She will use this investment to buy a variety of shoes to subsequently sell. Abelina hopes in future that the business will prosper and she will use her profits to invest in some clothes to sell to have another source of income.
