A loan of $275 helped to buy fish.

Monica's story

Mónica is 41 years old and is a happy, hardworking woman. She lives with her husband, Luis, who works as a teacher. She has a three year old son, whom she loves very much as is her motivation for continuing ahead.

Mónica sells fish in the city’s informal market. She gets up very early in the morning, goes to the place where the fishermen gather, buys her products, and takes them to her point of sale. She is very happy when she tends her to customers and they visit her daily because she has won them over.

She has been working this way for more than six years and her husband helps her when she is not working. She considers this to be a profitable business because her customers buy her products daily. Before doing this, she had financial problems so she decided to start her own business. What she likes is that this allows her to have an income and support her household expenses with this money. Her son is her motivation to continue making an effort to give him a better quality of life.

She says that she wants to increase her working capital. This will be her second loan through MFP. She is happy for this opportunity and says that she’s happy about the opportunity and that she will make her payments on time.

She will invest the entire 700 PEN from this loan into fish in quantity so that she can have better earnings.
