Norma Dinora's story

Norma, 36, is a single mother; she has two children and lives in a village belonging to the municipality of Tela, Atlántida. She’s always been a merchant. She used to sell cured meats and a year ago decided to start selling food. She makes fried chicken with green plantain slices that she sells on order. She’s able to feed her children thanks to her business and she’s already asked ODEF for several loans. The one she’s requesting now is her 6th and it’s for 5,000 Lempiras that she will use to buy chicken, green plantain, condiments and other ingredients needed to make the food; she will use part of it to buy clothes to sell in order to earn additional income. Her goal is to provide schooling for her children and to have her own house.
