A loan of $200 helped to buy sacks of organic manure.

Ana's story

Ana, 36, has three daughters who are 16, 12 and 4 years old. She separated from her husband years ago. She and her children live together in a house she owns located in an agricultural settlement. Ana’s a responsible, enterprising woman. Her main activity is agriculture. She’s been in this line of work for about 20 years and she considers herself to be a good woman of the fields. Thanks to her efforts she managed to buy four bulls that she raised. She sold two of them and now has two big bulls that are used as a yoked team (pair of animals attached to a plow). “I earn 70 - 100 soles per plowed field with my bulls which is why I take very good care of them; they are one of my greatest possessions,” she mentions.

She used to have frequent problems related to lack of capital but in time and with her work in the communal bank she’s been overcoming them. She’s now focusing on growing potatoes, peas and gladioli flowers which is why she needs your help to buy organic manure. This is her third MFP loan and she’s grateful for the support provided at this time. On her part, she’s happy in her “Las Estrellitas” (The Little Stars) communal bank that she presides. She will be able to buy sacks of organic manure for the pea and gladioli crops with the 500 soles.
