A loan of $2,300 helped to buy new garden tools, seeds and fertilizers.

Nazima's story

Nazima is a 53-year-old IDP woman, who lives in the Bilasuvar IDP Settlement with her husband and three children. She is a farmer and has raised seasonal fruits and vegetables for the last 10 years. Also, she raises fodder for cattle. She chose this business because it is profitable and her fresh crop is in high demand. People use fresh vegetables everyday and consider them healthy. Many national dishes are made of vegetables, such as pilau and dolma. Fresh fruits are served on every table in Azerbaijan families and are also used to make fresh punch.

Nazima sells her crop and fodder in the central bazaar and from her home. Her monthly income is 150 AZN. Her husband is a builder, but does not have a permanent job, and he actively helps her to raise the crops.

As these products are in high demand, Nazima wants to expand the business and produce more fruits and vegetables to cover the market demand. For this purpose she applied for 1800 AZN. She will buy new garden tools, seeds and fertilizers. This will be her second loan, and she has a good client history.
