A loan of $775 helped to buy fabric, lace, elastic and thread.

Juana's story

María, who is 62 years old, is a friendly and enterprising woman. Her husband passed away recently, and since then she has been living alone in her house. Her children are independent and live in other cities with their respective families.

María's work consists of the tailoring and sale of clothes for women, men and children. She works in a space inside her home, and has been doing it for 8 years. She says she began sewing when she was very young, because she always liked to design and sew. Her mother motivated her to do this type of work for a living. Now she does it with some friends with whom she has formed a company. She considers it profitable because businesses solicit her services to make uniforms for their workers. She also takes her fashions to the market in the city to sell wholesale.

In the future, she hopes to have her own store in the market to sell her fashions. Therefore, she is requesting 2,000 soles to buy materials such as fabric, lace, elastic and thread to continue sewing and producing, since she already has a lot of orders to make outfits for the end-of-year parties.
