Graciela's story

Graciela, 38, is a cheerful, gracious woman. She lives in her own house with her spouse, Antonio, who works in civil construction. They have three children who are 14, 8 and 3 years old and who they want to provide with a good quality of life. Graciela’s work consists in designing, sewing and selling women’s, men’s and children’s clothes. She does this work in a space at home and has been doing it for four years. She comments that she started this activity because she needed a job and a girlfriend taught her to design and dew so that she could go into this line of work. She considers it to be profitable because firms request her services to make uniforms for their employees. She also sells her creations in one of the city markets at wholesale. She hopes in future to open a store in the city market to sell her creations. She will request a 1,000 sol loan to buy merchandise like fabric, elastic, lace trim and thread to earn higher profits.
