Aida Luz's story

Aida is 21, married, and the mother of a two-year-old son. A merchant by occupation, she started at the age of 19 selling fruit in plastic bags. Every day she would place a small table in front of her house, where she started selling to help her husband with the household expenses. Besides, she was pregnant with her first child and needed income to cover that expense. Her husband works as a baker. Little by little she began stocking products, until she managed to set up a small grocery store where her mother has helped her. At this time of year, sales in the retail sector are very good and this is why she is applying for a loan to buy rice, sugar, cooking oil, soft drinks and chicken. Keeping the store stocked with new and better products is key to improving income As well, her hope is to add more food products to her grocery store and make it a stable business that will allow her to grow even more as a business person.
