Richard's story

Richard is 42 years old and lives in the town of Kayunga in the Mukono region of Uganda. He is married and has five children who are all currently in school. For the past 12 years, Richard has been working hard to manage his health clinic.

To help expand his business, Richard has requested a loan of 2,000,000 UGX from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy more medicine and machines that are used for examining patients. The loan will help Richard to generate greater profits. Richard hopes that in the future he will be able to produce more quality products.

Richard is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Richard who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans but who have businesses that have grown too large for micro-loans.
