A loan of $875 helped to buy livestock.

María Lucia's story

Señora María is requesting her second loan from the Victoria del Portete community bank. She lives in Victoria del Portete in Cuenca. This is an area of large plains well-suited to livestock rearing. The architecture of the area is a mix of colonial and modern, the people are friendly and have preserved their culture and traditions.

María is a single mother, she is 65 years old and has eight children, three of whom are married and live independently. Four work and help her out financially, and her youngest child studies in a nearby school. María owns the house she lives in, which is a product of her hard work and effort.

Señora María makes a living farming animals such as cattle, chicken and guinea pigs. She also grows vegetables to be eaten in her household. She works every day with no fixed hours.

She will use this new loan to invest in livestock so that she can continue developing in this activity. Her aim is to own more animals.
