A loan of $300 helped to buy packaging materials and ingredients like meats and vegetables.

Norma Janet's story

Norma, who is a 48-year-old mother of four children, earns her living selling soups. Five years ago, she had her first experience in the world of commerce with a small grocery store. Later, she decided to rent out rooms. Those renters were requesting food, which is why she decided to start selling soups, because soup is her most requested dish. Currently, she lives on the income generated by renting out rooms and selling soup, which she sells every weekend.

Norma hopes to start selling to the rest of the neighborhood, so she needs to buy more ingredients. She needs the loan to buy vegetables, meats, and packaging materials for selling soup. One of her plans is to buy an industrial stove and quit cooking with firewood. In addition, she would like to offer better service to her customers by expanding the space where they eat.
