A loan of $300 helped to buy fuel oil, manure, and fertilizer.

Modou's story

Monsieur Modou, who is a client of one of UIMCEC's rural offices, has been a farmer for over twelve years. He is a married father. He is a regular, as this is his fifth loan. Modou is young and works hard to feed his family. He has a field where he grows produce. He is requesting a loan in order to be able to buy piping, fuel oil, manure, and fertilizer. Thanks to the loans, he will now be able to put money aside and improve his family's nutrition. Because he always has to go looking for products elsewhere, Modou wants to open a seed and farm supply store.
