A loan of $750 helped to buy more good leather shoes to be sold.

Nutty's story

Nutty is 45 years old and lives in the town of Kayunga in the Mukono region of Uganda. He is married and has 5 children who are all currently in school. For the past 20 years, Nutty has been working hard to manage his leather business, which sells shoes.

To help expand his business, Nutty has requested a loan of 2,000,000 UGX from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy more good leather shoes to sell. By increasing his inventory, Nutty will be able to generate greater profits and expand his business by buying more goods. Nutty hopes that in the future he will be able to to produce quality goods.

Nutty is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Nutty who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown too large for microloans.
