A loan of $1,125 helped to buy a refrigerator and more soft drinks to sell.

Enid's story

Enid is 40 years old and lives in the town of Seeta in the Mukono region of Uganda. She is married and has three children, two currently in school. For the past five years, Enid has been working hard to manage her business, which sells soft drinks and alcohol.

To help expand her business, Enid has requested a loan of 3,000,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy a refrigerator and more soft drinks to sell, and will help Enid generate greater profits to improve her standard of living. Enid hopes that in the future, she will be able to be a good entrepreneur.

Enid is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Enid who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown too large for microloans.
