Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $1,000 helped to pay his son's university fees.

Othman's story

Othman is a 45-year-old married man. He lives with his wife and five children. Othman owns a small farm of olive trees which gives the family a seasonal income. He also drives a taxi. These two sources of income do not bring in enough money for the family's needs. One of Othman's sons is at university studying business administration.

Othman took out a loan from FATEN to pay his son's university fees. This loan helps the family by paying the studying expenses and ensuring Othman's son's bright future.

Othman appears in the picture next to his taxi.
