A loan of $750 helped to buy more clothes to sell.

Harriet's story

Harriet is 29 years old and is single with two children, one of whom is currently in school. She lives in the town of Lugazi in the Mukono region of Uganda. For the past five years, Harriet has been working hard to manage her boutique where she sells clothing.

Harriet is requesting a 2,000,000 UGX loan from BRAC Uganda to buy more clothes to increase her stock. Her loan will help to generate greater profits and increase her family's income level. In the future, Harriet hopes that she will be able to live a good life.

Harriet is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Harriet who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown too large for microloans.
