A loan of $1,125 helped to buy G nut seeds for grinding.

Steven's story

Steven is 38 years old and lives in the town of Lugazi in the Mukono region of Uganda. He is married and has 2 children who are all currently in school. For the past 5 years, Steven has been working hard to manage his grinding business, which sells groundnuts.

To help expand his business, Steven has requested a loan of 3,000,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to buy G nut seeds for grinding, and will help Steven to generate greater profits and increase income and pay school fees. Steven hopes that in the future, he will be able to be more productive.

Steven is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs, like Steven, who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown too large for microloans.
