A loan of $800 helped look after the maintenance of his vehicle.

Ababacar's story

A married man and the father of four children, Ababacar lives in a small village in Senegal. For the past six years his commercial activity has been increasing. He owns a motorized vehicle that serves as a method of shared transportation for passengers, providing him with regular income that he spends on taking care of his family's needs in addition to the maintenace of this vehicle. He is a member of the UIMCEC branch near his home. He is asking for a loan of 400,000 FCFA (approximately 800 USD) that he will spend on the maintenance of his vehicle. This loan will help him increase his revenues and allow him to continue to cover the costs of his family, a responsiblity which he bears, as head of the household. He hopes to someday own a taxi company that would have 3 or 4 vehicles.
