Susana lives in Magsaysay, Baliangao, Misamis Occidental. Aged 45, she is a widow and has three children. For the last seven years, she has made a living through raising corn for sale. She earns about 3,000 PHP a month.
In 2009, Susana joined GDMPC. She is applying for a loan of 4,000 PHP to purchase fertilizers such as manure. She plans to use the additional revenue she earns as a result of this loan to continue improving her business.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
