Mukokoma Bakyara Group's story

Sarah, the chairperson of Mukokoma Bakyara group operates a stall of mixed food items such as plantain and vegetables among others in Lyantonde central market. She used her previous loan to buy a stall of her own and is now able to use the money previously used to pay rent to buy more stock. She will now buy more items to sell so that she can satisfy the needs of her customers. As the group chairperson she strives hard to pay well and expand her business, and to live and act as an example to other women in the group, especially whenever she gets a new loan. She is very hardworking and confesses that the loan has helped the women in the group to be self-sufficient without having to depend on their husbands for everything.
